About the Survey

What is the Dealer Attitude Survey?

The NFDA Dealer Attitude Survey (DAS) is the most comprehensive measure of manufacturer–dealer relations in the UK automotive market. Published twice a year — in winter and summer — it gathers detailed feedback from franchised dealers on every major automotive brand represented in the UK.

Results are widely cited by manufacturers, investors, media, and policymakers as a barometer of health within the franchise network. For manufacturers, a consistently poor rating is a signal that the dealer relationship requires urgent attention. For dealers, the survey provides an anonymous, authoritative channel to have their voice heard.

Who participates?

Franchised dealers across the UK, covering all major brands. Responses are anonymous to encourage honest feedback.

When is it published?

Winter results are published in February, covering the preceding autumn. Summer results are published in August, covering the spring survey period.

What is measured?

Provide regular updates on motor industry news, legislative and regulatory changes, Government consultations, and market data via our weekly news bulletin and quarterly magazine, The Voice.

Is my response confidential?

Yes. All individual dealer responses are kept strictly confidential. Only aggregated, anonymised scores are published in the final report.
