Dear colleague,
This week, the EU’s proposed Made in Europe measures was ongoing, with the SMMT supporting calls for UK-built vehicles and components to receive equivalent treatment. We highlighted how closely connected the UK and European automotive industries remain, reinforcing NFDA’s position that unnecessary barriers should be avoided to protect competitiveness, vehicle choice and affordability.
Drive My Career, our auto industry initiative, is preparing for the Coventry Careers Fair on 7 October, showcasing the breadth of opportunities across automotive retail. The team will be at Coventry Transport Museum to speak with students, school leavers, graduates and career changers about apprenticeships and the wide range of roles available, as attracting new talent remains an important priority for our sector.
Driving Automotive returns to Lord’s Cricket Ground on 15 December, with this year’s special edition focusing on New Brand Entrants. The event will bring together industry figures to discuss the changing UK brand landscape, along with AI and what new tech means for retailers. Attendance is free for NFDA members.
