Dear colleague, On Thursday, the Bank of England decided to hold interest rates at 4.0% . This decision comes as the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics show that inflation remained steady at 3.8% in August, unchanged from July. With inflation still nearly 2% above the Bank’s official 2% target, maintaining the current rate likely reflects a cautious approach to balancing inflation control. The decision to hold rates offers a degree of reassurance for both consumers and businesses as they continue to navigate ongoing cost pressures and economic uncertainty. NFDA will continue to closely monitor the two remaining interest rate decisions scheduled for later this year. Next week, on Friday 26 September, NFDA’s Drive My Career initiative will be attending the Birmingham Careers Fair at the Leonardo Royal Hotel . DMC continues to highlight the wide range of career opportunities in automotive retail giving students and jobseekers the chance to meet employers directly and learn more about the sector. Additionally, we will be attending the London Careers Fair on 7 November at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium . If you would like to get involved or support these events, please contact eleni.rodriguez@rmif.co.uk Finally, we have decided to extend the Summer 2025 edition of the NFDA Dealer Attitude Survey until Tuesday 7 October . We strongly encourage all dealers to participate as a high response rate is crucial in voicing your opinions. The greater the representation of the survey, the louder this voice will be. Help increase the strength of the feedback on your manufacturer by filling out a response! If you have any questions, please contact Zachary.moodie@rmif.co.uk
