Among other aspects, the draft report sets plastic recycling targets, defines the handling of traction batteries from old electric vehicles and deals with extended producer responsibility. In particular, the expanded definition of plastics, the inclusion of chemical recycling and the greater recognition of remanufacturing are crucial steps to promote innovation and the circular economy in the automotive industry.
