Ascent Energy Services, one of the UK’s largest established EV charger installers, has partnered with Powerverse to launch a branded, end-to-end EV charging solution for its private domestic, fleet, commercial and dealership customers, as well as automotive OEMs. The Ascent app lets drivers choose from a range of leading EV chargers and takes care of the whole installation experience, with built-in point of sale software. Through the partnership, Ascent, a national approved installer, combines its installation and customer service experience with Raya Rewards, Powerverse’s driver rewards programme for smart charging, so customers are rewarded for helping balance the grid, all through a single Ascent-branded experience.
Until now, many drivers have received little reward for the flexibility their home charger can offer the grid, and have often needed to be with a particular energy retailer to benefit from smart charging. The Ascent app changes that. Customers can choose the charger that best suits their home and their charging needs from a range of leading manufacturers, relying on Ascent for installation and customer service, and have their charger connected to the Powerverse platform for driver rewards from day one. The Powerverse platform connects each charger to the energy markets and pays a reward back to the driver for smart charging at times that help the grid. The reward is paid out in cash, effectively giving drivers free EV miles.
John Gregory, Director, Ascent Energy Services “Our focus has always been on delivering the best possible solution and experience for our customers, from installation through to ongoing support. Working with Powerverse allows us to offer our domestic, fleet, commercial and dealership customers a simple, Ascent-branded app to manage their charging, alongside a choice of leading chargers and the opportunity to be rewarded for helping balance the grid. It builds on the strong relationships we have with the manufacturers we work with, and gives our customers even more value from their charging.
The partnership is designed to scale beyond individual drivers. Dealerships, OEM brands and fleet operators can offer their customers a complete journey, from choosing a charger to installation and ongoing rewards, with a choice of leading charger brands. As new chargers come to market, they can be added to the platform’’ said John Gregory, Director of Ascent Energy Services.
Richard Britton, CEO, Powerverse “This partnership is an excellent example of domestic charging, done end to end, in action. This is a platform that connects everything, from charger choice to the energy market access that turns every connected charger into a source of value for drivers and partners alike. Ascent Energy and Powerverse will showcase the solution at AM Live on 11 November, on stand P32. Powerverse and Ascent will be on the stand throughout the day to talk to dealers, leasing companies, brands and decision makers about how the model can work for their customers.
