The National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) notes the decision by the Bank of England to hold the base rate at 3.75%, reflecting continued caution as inflationary pressures persist. The Monetary Policy Committee’s decision to maintain rates signals a balancing act between controlling inflation and supporting economic growth. Sue Robinson, Chief Executive of the NFDA, said: “Today’s decision to hold interest rates underlines the ongoing challenges facing both consumers and businesses. While stability in rates may provide some reassurance, borrowing costs remain high compared to recent years, continuing to impact affordability. “Franchised dealers are operating in a challenging environment where consumer confidence is fragile. A clear and stable economic outlook will be essential to support demand and enable the sector to continue contributing to jobs, investment, and the UK’s transition to zero-emission mobility.”
