Business groups have urged Chancellor John Healey to use the upcoming Budget to reduce the cost pressures facing UK businesses and create greater confidence for investment and growth.
Ahead of the Budget, industry bodies have called for measures to ease rising employment, energy and business costs, with the British Chambers of Commerce warning that firms need greater “breathing space” to create jobs, invest and grow. The Institute of Directors has also urged the Government to consider the longer-term impact of tax changes on investment and business confidence.
