On Wednesday, NFDA attended the Cenex Expo 2025, the UK’s flagship event for low carbon vehicles and connected automated mobility (CAM), which took place at UTAC Millbrook, Bedfordshire. The event opened with a keynote address by Rt Hon. Sarah Jones MP, Minister of State for the Department for Business and Trade. Her remarks centred on the government’s £2.5 billion DRIVE35 funding programme, designed to support investment in the design, development and manufacturing of zero-emission vehicles and their supply chains through to 2035. To date, £500 million has been specifically allocated to R&D support over the next decade. The Government’s funding underlines the broader opportunities ahead for the automotive industry, from suppliers to retailers. For NFDA, attending Cenex Expo provided the chance to engage directly with industry leaders and innovators, ensuring that franchised dealers remain part of the conversation as the UK’s mobility landscape continues to evolve
