National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) recently held successful regional meetings in Scotland at GTG in Edinburgh on 27 May and Northern Ireland on 2 June at Culloden Estate, Belfast, bringing together dealer representatives to discuss the latest developments affecting the automotive retail sector. Both meetings featured discussions on the new and used car markets, manufacturer relations and the ongoing impact of the ZEV Mandate. Members also received updates on the outcome of the FCA Consumer Redress Scheme and the practical implications for dealers, alongside discussions on electric vehicle developments and EVA accreditation. The Scotland meeting included a presentation from Consumer Scotland on its Used Car Survey, while Northern Ireland members heard an update from Auto Trader’s Bill Downey and received a briefing on European Commission and Great Britain Type Approval developments from NFDA Northern Ireland Advisor, Alastair Peoples. Sue Robinson, NFDA Chief Executive, said: ‘ Our regional meetings provide a valuable forum for dealers to highlight the key issues affecting businesses and the wider automotive sector. The strong engagement from members in both Scotland and Northern Ireland demonstrated the importance of these events in supporting and representing the dealer network .’ NFDA will continue to engage with members across its regional network throughout the year, providing forums for discussion, information sharing and industry representation.
