National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) has congratulated Andy Burnham on his appointment as Prime Minister and called on the new Government to provide greater clarity and a practical policy framework to support automotive retailers as the sector continues to undergo significant change. With key decisions expected on areas including the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Mandate, Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) and the wider transition to net zero, NFDA has highlighted the importance of policies that allow retailers to plan effectively and continue investing in their businesses. NFDA Chief Executive, Sue Robinson, said: ‘ Franchised retailers are helping to deliver the changes taking place across the industry. However, clear and practical policies are essential to give retailers the confidence to invest, adapt and continue supporting customers. She added: ‘ NFDA looks forward to working with Government to ensure the voice of retailers is heard. ’ NFDA continues to provide a collective voice for the sector and works with Government to shape policies that support retailers, customers and the future of automotive retail.
