Ahead of the Autumn Budget next Wednesday, NFDA has urged the Government to provide a clear strategy for the UK automotive retail sector. We called for measures to boost electric vehicle (EV) adoption, improve charging infrastructure, freeze fuel duty, reform inheritance tax, remove the apprenticeship levy clawback and align the ZEV mandate with European manufacturing timelines. We also urged the Government to reconsider scrapping the ECOS scheme and to reform the VED expensive car supplement, which is currently deterring EV purchases. NFDA will be monitoring the Budget closely and will continue its engagement with policymakers at our parliamentary dinner in January. Our full proposal can be found here
