The SMMT has reiterated calls for UK-built vehicles, components and materials to receive equivalent treatment under the EU’s proposed ‘Made in Europe’ measures, warning that exclusion could disadvantage UK manufacturers in their largest export market.

NFDA has also raised concerns over the proposals, warning that additional trade barriers could increase costs and affect vehicle choice and affordability. New analysis estimates UK automotive production supports €24 billion of economic activity and 250,000 jobs across the EU.
