UK vehicle production fell 11.6% in July to 63,655 units, with car output down 10.6% and commercial vehicle production falling 34.4%. Weaker exports and the timing of summer shutdowns contributed to the decline.
Electrified vehicle production provided a brighter note, rising for the first time this year and accounting for more than four in 10 cars built during the month. The SMMT has called for ZEV Mandate reform alongside action on energy costs and trade to support future UK investment.
